Privacy Policy for Benosso WhatsApp Notifier

This Privacy Policy describes what data Benosso WhatsApp Notifier (“the App”) accesses, why, and how it is handled. The App is installed by a Wix site owner (“the Merchant”) to send WhatsApp notifications about their own orders. Provider: Benosso İnternet Yazılım İthalat İhracat Ticaret ve Bilgi Teknolojileri A.Ş. (“Benosso”), a company registered in Türkiye (tax no. 1640774681), benosso.com, support@benosso.com.

1. Data the App accesses

From the Merchant’s Wix site, only to provide its function:

Order data — order number, total, currency, items, and order status. Used to compose the notification message.
Buyer contact details — name and phone number from the order. Used to send the customer their order confirmation, and only when the Merchant enables customer messages.
Abandoned checkout data — buyer name, phone and recovery link, used only for the cart-recovery message when the Merchant enables that feature.
App settings — the Merchant’s own configuration (Meta credentials, store name, language, message preferences), stored in the site’s own Wix CMS collections.

The App does not access payment card data, passwords, or any data unrelated to sending order notifications.

2. How data is used

To send the Merchant an alert for each new order.
To send the customer an order confirmation, when enabled by the Merchant.
To send a cart-recovery message, when enabled by the Merchant.

Messages are delivered through the official WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta Cloud API) using the Merchant’s own WhatsApp Business account and credentials. Benosso does not send messages on its own behalf and does not use the data for its own marketing.

3. Where data is stored

Settings and counters live in the Merchant’s own site (Wix CMS collections). They stay with the site.
Message content is transmitted to Meta for delivery and is subject to Meta’s own terms and privacy policy.
The App keeps no separate customer database outside the Merchant’s site.

4. Credentials

The Merchant’s Meta access token is stored in the site’s own collection and is never returned to the browser; the dashboard only shows whether a token is saved. It is used solely to call the Meta Cloud API on the Merchant’s behalf.

5. Retention and deletion

Settings and send counters are removed when the App is uninstalled, or earlier on request. Requests: support@benosso.com — actioned within 30 days.

Data is shared only with Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) for message delivery. It is not sold, rented, or shared with anyone else.

7. Merchant responsibility

The Merchant is responsible for having a lawful basis to message their customers and for complying with WhatsApp’s Business Messaging Policy and applicable privacy and marketing laws.
